A journey that begun in the year 2006 from Huruma – Ngei – Mathare as a youth desire to set up a safe space for economic empowerment, has continued to evolve over the years. The journey has seen The Slumcode Group – a Social Enterprise; set up The Slumcode Innovations and Creatives Hub in TENA Estate – as an easily accessible safe space for talented kids and aspiring entrepreneurs living in Nairobi’s Low income Neighborhoods.
Establishing and pursuing collaborations is one key pillar of successful social impact. Our efforts as young people determined to add value in the Youth Economic and Social Empowerment, therefore saw us heighten deeper relationships with partners in the space like Youth Enterprise Development Fund – YEDF which has a Mandate to Spur Enterprise Development in the country.
